theronI've made up two new characters in the past three days. On Saturday it was Yuri, a Gangrel former Russian Mafiya enforcer for our World of Darkness game. The premise looks to be something along the lines of the BRPD from Hellboy, a government agency tasked with policing the supernatural. The other PCs are a Ventrue social monster, a Mage, and another as-yet-to-be-determined character (the player had to miss the first session). It's my first time trying out the new WoD rules and I have to say character creation went quickly and clearly. At least for the vampires. Our mage was still working on stuff when we wrapped up and he ended up borrowing my copy of the rulebook to finish.
Yesterday and this morning, I wrote up my Shadowrun character nVISIGOTH, a human hacker suffering from bipolar disorder and acute paranoia. While 4th edition Shadowrun substantially improved character creation in most respects, the shopping for gear portion of the proceedings was a pain, even with software assistance, even with basically copying the equipment load of a similar character out of the book (mainly, because I tried to figure out how everything priced out.). Still, he's done, apart from transferring him to a proper character sheet before tomorrow, so it's all good. Though I should re-read the section on hacking and cybercombat one more time, just to make sure I get the new version.
